Position Description:
Arieca is looking for an entry level chemistry laboratory technician (1-3 years experience) who will assist our manufacturing readiness and polymer chemistry teams to a successful market introduction and continuous improvement of our thermal interface materials (TIM). 

This role will be involved using several precision material characterization instruments including Rheometer, TGA, DSC, distillation, thermal conductivity/resistance measurement (ASTM D5470), mechanical tester, Profilometer, microscopes, as well as bench experimental setup including laser cutter, CNC mill, ductless fume hood, hot plates and spin coater, UV ozone cleaner, ovens and several other resources for an experimentalist to play all day long!

The candidate should be prepared and motivated to learn about the TIM industry guided by the existing staff. Experience with good lab practices (GLP) and good measurements practices (GMP) is required. Strong analytical and communication skills are required as we need to collect data, optimize operations and develop processes and systems that work well within the constraints of a startup. Engagement with external vendors and ecosystem partners is possible.

Key Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Experience working in materials/chemistry laboratories
  • Define Design of Experiments (DoE) test suites, conduct experiments, and document results
  • Perform correlation analysis, review data with development team, and discuss possible optimizations
  • Familiarity operating: Microscopes, TGA, DSC, Rheometer and a proven ability to learning to using other lab equipment rapidly
  • Define experiments and collect data to validate proposed QA (quality assurance) and QC (quality control) plans
  • Exposure to six-sigma concepts is a plus
  • Support defining the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for development and production manufacturing
